Elmwood High School senior Julia Gross is this year’s Franklin B. Walter Scholastic Award winner.

Fourteen members and two guests attended the May 13 meeting held at Tekela’s Restaurant in Perrysburg. After a prayer, a welcome was given by President Lois Zeh. After lunch, the guest speaker Susan Garn gave a presentation on Monarch Butterflies. Candra Boggs, a previous UWE scholarship recipient, spoke about her project “Women in Life.” Boggs is a Perrysburg High School art teacher and her students were each asked to create a portrait of a woman that inspired them. Examples of this portrait project were shared.

Bowling Green senior Sydney Maas will earn four athletic letters during her final year of high school, but her accolades extend beyond the athletic fields.

BLOOMDALE — Elmwood senior Anna Barber did not qualify for state in throwing events this year, but she has a promising future.

The Bowling Green City Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the administrative offices, 137 Clough St.
