An Indiana man who allegedly grabbed women in a restroom at a downtown Bowling Green bar has been charged with assault after getting into a fight with bouncers who asked him to leave. Bowling Green police were called to Doc’s at 12:51 a.m. Sunday and found several bouncers on the ground trying to control a man, later identified as Louis Garrett. Police spoke to a bar employee who had a large bleeding scrape on his left forearm and a large knot on his forehead. He told police he was injured by Garrett, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report. This employee said a customer told him that Garrett had been going into the women’s restroom and touching them. He confronted Garrett and told him to leave, according to the report. With the assistance of other bouncers, Garrett was forced out the back door. Garrett returned to the front of the bar and once again entered before making his way back to the women’s restroom, where he was confronted by the bouncers. Garrett then allegedly started attacking one of them before he was taken to the floor. A witness told police that Garrett walked up to her and another woman while they were waiting in line for the restroom and started touching the other woman. Garrett was taken into custody and placed into a cruiser. He began vomiting and, due to his level of intoxication, he was transported to Wood County Hospital, according to the report. Garrett, 25, Fort Wayne, was cited for criminal trespass, disorderly conduct/intoxicated-annoy or alarm and assault.

A Bowling Green man has been arrested for burglary and taken to jail. On Friday at 10:06 p.m., police responded to a 911 call from the 900 block of South Main Street for what was reported as a breaking and entering. The caller stated that a male, later identified as Justin Madrigel, was outside of an apartment arguing with the alleged victim, a 43-year-old woman. The woman attempted to go into her apartment and Madrigel attempted to follow behind her, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report. The woman told police that Madrigel had previously trespassed in her residence in June, which was confirmed by police dispatch. She stated that she was at a party with other residents from the apartment complex having a few drinks. When she returned home, she found Madrigel intoxicated on her front stoop. She told him that he needed to leave, but he refused, according to the report. The woman told police that as she was attempting to unlock her door and get inside, Madrigel tired to push his way inside her apartment. She had a scratch on her right forearm, which she said occurred when Madrigel tried to push his way into her apartment. She started screaming and a neighbor grabbed Madrigel and took him into his apartment until police arrived, according to the report. Madrigel, 27, was charged with aggravated burglary, assault and criminal trespass. He was taken to jail, where he remained Monday on a $40,000 bond.
