Bowling Green police responded Tuesday to the report of an attempted vehicle break-in.

At 3:51 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 Liberty Street for a report of a subject breaking into vehicles.

The caller told police that he was sitting in his living room when he heard his car alarm go off, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

The caller said he ran outside and saw a man standing by his vehicle trying to open the door and he chased the man to the intersection of Fairview and Conneaut avenues, according to the report.

The suspect was last seen running down North Maple Street and was described at being a white, wearing a dark green hooded sweatshirt with black pants.

Police searched the area but did not locate the male.

A search of vehicles in the Liberty Street area all seemed untouched, according to the report.
