A Bowling Green man has been arrested for burglary and taken to jail.

On Friday at 10:06 p.m., police responded to a 911 call from the 900 block of South Main Street for what was reported as a breaking and entering.

The caller stated that a male, later identified as Justin Madrigel, was outside of an apartment arguing with the alleged victim, a 43-year-old woman.

The woman attempted to go into her apartment and Madrigel attempted to follow behind her, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

The woman told police that Madrigel had previously trespassed in her residence in June, which was confirmed by police dispatch.

She stated that she was at a party with other residents from the apartment complex having a few drinks. When she returned home, she found Madrigel intoxicated on her front stoop. She told him that he needed to leave, but he refused, according to the report.

The woman told police that as she was attempting to unlock her door and get inside, Madrigel tired to push his way inside her apartment.

She had a scratch on her right forearm, which she said occurred when Madrigel tried to push his way into her apartment.

She started screaming and a neighbor grabbed Madrigel and took him into his apartment until police arrived, according to the report.

Madrigel, 27, was charged with aggravated burglary, assault and criminal trespass.

He was taken to jail, where he remained Monday on a $40,000 bond.
