Eagles stay unbeaten in NBC after 62-20 win

FOSTORIA — Eastwood remained perfect in the Northern Buckeye Conference at 4-0 after winning a 62-20 rout on the road against Fostoria Friday.

Eastwood is 6-1 overall while Fostoria falls to 1-6 and 0-4.

The Eagles had 332 yards rushing, 224 yards through the air and 30 first downs to the Redmens’ 14 first downs, 145 yards rushing and 181 yards passing.

Caiden Maize led Eastwood on the ground with 194 yards rushing on 23 carries and four touchdowns, Kevin Lewis had 50 yards on one carry with one TD, Braden Dix had 48 yards on four carries, and quarterback Kadyn Donnell had 47 yards on nine carries.

Donnell completed 11-of-17 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns. Maize caught two passes for 58 yards, Andre Lewis had two catches for 49 yards, Kaiden Sanchez had three catches for 48 yards, Dayquan Oliver had two catches for 36 yards, and Brock Messinger had two catches for 33 yards.

In the first quarter, Eastwood scored on a 34-yard run by Donnell and a five-yard run by Maize. In the second, the Eagles scored on a 25-yard pass from Donnell to Oliver and a 27-yard pass from Donnell to Messinger.

In the third, Maize scored on TD runs of four, seven, and three yards, and in the fourth Kevin Lewis scored on a 50-yard TD run.

Defensively for Eastwood, Wyatt Oestreich had an interception, Andrew Badenhop had seven tackles, Kevin Lewis had five tackles, and Sanchez, Braden Bowdie, Paul Lautzenheiser, and Colin Clarke were involved in sacks.

For Fostoria, Lance Miller ran for 126 yards on nine carries and one TD and Gavin Miller had 11 yards on eight carries.

Gavin Miller completed 19-of-31 passes for 179 yards and one TD with one interception, and Julius Smith threw one completion good for two yards.

Jordan Ferguson caught five passes for 88 yards and one TD, Brayden Harrison had five catches for 39 yards, Trenten Smith had two catches for 22 yards, Julius Robinson had a 19-yard reception, Lance Miller had a 12-yard reception, Barrett Hernandez had a catch for five yards, and Carter Breitigam had a catch for two yards.
