Turnovers doom Bobcats in 41-0 loss to Cougars

SYLVANIA — Bowling Green lost its second straight Northern Lakes League football game, falling on the road to Southview, 41-0, on Friday.

The Cougars took a 28-0 halftime lead and added two more scores in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Southview’s defense held BG’s rushing attack to 89 yards and the Cougars took advantage of three lost fumbles by the Bobcats.

BG running back Peyton Harris had 41 yards rushing on 14 carries, Jackson Shafer had 22 yards on eight carries, Ja’ceous Shannon had 19 yards on 10 carries, and quarterback Jamison Horst had six yards on two carries.

Horst also completed 2-of-5 passes for 67 yards, including one to Shafer for 53 yards and one to Shannon for 14 yards. The Bobcats were held to just four first downs and 156 total yards.

Southview improves to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the NLL Cardinal Division, while BG falls to 4-3 and 0-2.

Southview scored on a 35-yard pass from Brayden Posner to Emite Lamb, two one-yard rushing touchdowns by Isaac Sexton, a five-yard run by Sexton, a two-yard TD run by Caleb Reed, and Posner scored on a five-yard run.

Southview took advantage of a BG fumble recovered by Sexton, a BG fumble recovered by Josh Adamczyk, and a BG fumble recovered by Trayvon Redmond.
