Flyers nip Bulldogs, 34-33, in NBC shootout

MILLBURY — In a Northern Buckeye Conference shootout, Lake scored the final fourth quarter touchdown on a 42-yard pass to defeat Rossford, 34-33, at Lake Community Stadium on Friday.

Lake improves to 2-5 overall and gets its first league win against three losses, while Rossford falls to 1-6 and 0-4.

For Lake, quarterback Carter Behlmer completed 31-of-42 passes for 486 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.

Gavin Kohlhofer caught 10 passes for 133 yards, Preston Snyder caught two passes for 74 yards and one TD, Julian Rodriguez had two catches for 68 yards and one TD, and Alexander Scott had three catches for 68 yards.

David Parsons had seven catches for 56 yards, Jay Blazevich had four catches for 38 yards, Felipe Garcia had two catches for 29 yards, and Caleb Tobias had a 20-yard TD reception.

David Parsons ran the ball 14 times for 54 yards and two touchdowns and Julian Rodriguez had 31 yards rushing on six carries.

Rossford had 22 first downs to Lake’s 19, and the Bulldogs had 80 yards in penalties to Lake’s 122. Lake lost two fumbles and Rossford lost one.

For Rossford, quarterback Jackson Schultz completed 17-of-36 passes for 329 yards and one TD and Ayden Wilson had 187 yards rushing on 31 carries with three touchdowns. Kaden Kirkman caught 11 passes for 212 yards.

Nicholas Taddonio led the Rossford defense with seven solo tackles, including one for a loss, Ronnie Hawkins IV had two interceptions, and Jace Odenweller and Keagan Engram had fumble recoveries.
