BGSU’s Fallon, who batted .778 this weekend, is MAC Player of the Week

Bowling Green State University baseball standout Adam Fallon has been named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the conference office on Monday morning.

Fallon, a native of Powell, Ohio (Bishop Watterson HS) batted an .778 during the Falcons’ three-game series vs. Northern Illinois. He went 7-for-9 with three walks, for an on-base percentage of .833 in the series Four of his seven hits went for extra bases, as he had a double, two triples and a homer for a slugging percentage of 1.667.

In Friday’s series opener, Fallon went 3-for-3 with a double, a homer and five runs batted in, as the Falcons drubbed NIU by a 21-1 final. Fallon scored a pair of runs in that win.

Then, on Saturday, Fallon was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks, a stolen base and a run scored in BG’s extra-inning win over the Huskies. On Sunday, Fallon went 3-for-4 with a pair of triples and another walk, scoring two runs and driving in one.

The senior outfielder raised his seasonal batting average 74 points in the NIU series.

UP NEXT

The Falcons end the 2023 season with a three-game series against Toledo. That series begins on Thursday with a 3 p.m. matchup at Scott Park.

The Battle of I-75 moves to Fifth Third Field in downtown Toledo for Friday’s game, with first pitch set for 7 p.m.

The final contest will be back at Scott Park on Saturday at 2 p.m.
