New BGHS needed for economic development

To the Editor:

I write to encourage all Bowling Green City Schools District voters to vote for the proposed levy on Nov. 8.

The truth is the age and condition of our school buildings has been the single biggest inhibitor if economic growth for the city over the past 15-plus years. I have personally witnessed countless families relocate to neighboring districts for this single reason. Bowling Green has lost out on new businesses opportunities because employers don’t believe they will be able to recruit the employees they need to live in Bowling Green, and they aren’t wrong.

Bowling Green is a wonderful city to live, work and raise a family. But families need strong schools. If we continue to ignore the condition of our school buildings, the city and its residents will continue to fall behind.

Please join me and vote for the school levy.
