League-leading Jackets rout Wildcats, 56-10

PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg opened a 49-0 halftime lead and rolled to a 56-10 Northern Lakes League victory over Northview Friday at Steinecker Stadium.

Perrysburg, 7-1 overall, remains in sole possession of first place in the NLL at 5-0, while Northview falls to 4-4 and 2-3.

Perrysburg amassed 513 yards of total offense and held the Wildcats to 53 yards and the Yellow Jackets had 28 first downs to Northview’s four.

Perrysburg senior quarterback T.J. Takats completed 13-of-17 passes for 207 yards and four touchdowns, and quarterback Josh Takats completed 3-of-3 passes for 72 yards and one TD. Neither had an interception.

T.J. Takats threw a 13 and 52-yard TD passes to Gavin Fenneken, a nine-yard TD pass to Connor Walendzak, and a 22-yard TD pass to Andrew Hunt.

Josh Takats tossed a 24-yard TD pass to Sam Lawanson.

Jack Borer caught six passes for 87 yards, Fenneken caught three passes for 76 yards, Iain Hall had two receptions for 48 yards and Walendzak had three catches for 22 yards.

Walendzak ran for 101 yards on nine carries and TD runs of two and four yards, Dylan Blubaugh had 47 yards rushing on four carries, and Seney ran for 28 yards on five carries and scored on a three-yard run.

Defensively, A.J. Bernthisel, Matt McEwen and Greg Swanson had interceptions and Seney and Avery Hunt had sacks.

All of Northview’s points came in the fourth quarter on a 37-yard field goal by Alex Kasee and 75-yard kickoff return by Connor Cody.

Northview quarterback Gavin Roehrig completed 6-of-15 passes for 28 yards, including two to Ayden Hall for 15 yards. Kayden Tomasak ran for 39 yards on eight carries for the Wildcats.
