Perrysburg soccer ranked
Perrysburg’s girls soccer team is ranked No. 7 in Division I in the first state poll with 30 points. The
Yellow Jackets are 2-0.
Landsberger honored
Bowling Green State University men’s soccer player Nick Landsberger was named the Mid-American Conference
player of the week.
Landsberger, a redshirt sophomore goalkeeper, posted a shutout in his first collegiate match, a 2-0 win
over Indiana University-Purdue University Indiana on Aug. 29. Landsberger made five saves in the win.

Owens volleyball splits
Owens Community College’s volleyball team split matches with McHenry County College and Muskegon
Community College in the final day of the Owens Invitational Sunday.
The Express beat McHenry, 25-12, 25-19, 25-15 before falling 25-22, 23-25, 25-17, 19-25, 15-11 to
Muskegon.
No. 8 Owens soccer falls
Owens Community College’s women’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 18 Monroe Community College
Sunday.
The Express, ranked No. 8, are 0-1-1.
Falcon volleyball loses
Bowling Green State University’s volleyball team lost its final two matches of the Hampton Inn
Invitational Saturday.
The Falcons, who hosted the tournament, lost to Middle Tennessee State, 25-17, 22-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-9
before losing 25-19, 25-7, 25-14 to Pittsburgh.
BG is 0-3.
Owens golf earns title
Owen Community College’s men’s golf team captured the Olivet College Fall Golf Classic championship at
Bedford Valley Country Club with a 289 team score.
Philippe Weppernig led the Express with a second-round 68 giving him a 143 two-day total, good for second
place individually.
It was the second straight year Owens has won the event.
Owens volleyball loses twice Saturday
Owens Community College’s volleyball team dropped a pair of matches as part of Saturday’s portion of the
Owens invitational.
No. 18 Catawba Valley beat the Express in five sets, 25-23, 15-25, 21-25, 26-24, 19-17 before Wallace
State-Hanceville beat Owens, 25-22, 17-25, 25-14, 27-25.
Eastwood High School graduate Aricka LaVoy had four aces in the first match.
