Prep Roundup: Springfield downs Rossford, 28-18

Rossford fell behind 21-0 at halftime and couldn’t complete a comeback despite 18 second-half points as
it dropped a nonconference contest to Springfield, 28-18.

31, Oak Harbor 0; Lake 42, Ottawa Hills 6; Toledo Christian 49, Elmwood 42; and Northwood 35, Toledo
Woodward 0.
Springfield 28, Rossford 18
In Toledo, Rossford quarterback Kyle Sherman passed for 174 yards and a touchdown, but was intercepted
three times in the loss. Erik Davis had 22 carries for 65 yards as the Bulldogs were held to 288 yards
of total offense.
Rossford is 0-3.
Eastwood 31, Oak Harbor 0
In Oak Harbor, Eastwood scored the first points of the game nearly nine minutes in with a 62 yard run by
Devin Snowden.
Eastwood began the second quarter with a 10-0 lead before notching two touchdown runs from Grant Geiser
to put them up 24-0 at halftime. With time winding down in the third quarter, Eastwood would score a
fourth touchdown to end the scoring.
Snowden and Geiser combined for 212 of the 261 yards on the ground with four touchdowns for Eastwood
(2-1).
Lake 42, Ottawa Hills 6
In Toledo, Lake improved to 3-0 as it exploded for 21 first-quarter points. The Flyers added 21 more
points in the second quarter to take a 42-0 lead at halftime.
Quarterback Jared Rettig led Lake going 8-of-9 for 179 yards and three touchdowns. Lake totaled 327 yards
of offense.
Toledo Christian 49, Elmwood 42
At Lake High School, Toledo Christian scored 23 points in the third quarter en route to the win over
Elmwood (0-3).
The Eagles totaled 484 yards of offense while Elmwood was held to 344.
Northwood 35, Toledo Woodward 0
In Northwood, the Rangers took an early lead scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter. Northwood went
on to score two more touchdowns in the second quarter to lead 28-0 at the half.
The game was called at 35-0. The fourth quarter was not played.
Northwood compiled 208 yards rushing on 25 carries for three touchdowns, while Michael Vallejo added 71
passing yards and a touchdown
