Willard Misfeldt’s ‘April’ set deemed excellent by OCTAWillard Misfeldt of the Black Swamp
Players won two awards of excellence at the annual Ohio Community Theatre Association held earlier this
month.Misfeldt was honored for his set design and for his set design rendering for the play
"Enchanted April."The play, directed by Misfeldt, was staged in September, 2012.The set
depicted a villa in northern Italy.French-Canadian film opens series at Way Public LibraryPERRYSBURG –
The Way Public Library will begin the 10th season of its Art and Foreign Film Series with a screening of
the 2012 French-Canadian film "Monsieur Lazhar" Thursday at 7 p.m.The film, a nominee for the
Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, tells the story of an Algerian immigrant hired to replace a popular
teacher who committed suicide in the classroom. While helping his students with their grief, his own
recent loss is revealed.Perry portrayal at Hayes homeFREMONT – Oliver Hazard Perry comes to life in the
person of Jeremy Meier during a one-man lecture and performance Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hayes
Presidential Center.Meier, assistant professor of fine and performing arts at Owens Community College,
was commissioned by the Ohio Humanities Council to develop and write "Oliver Hazard Perry: Hero of
Lake Erie." The performance lasts 35 minutes followed by a question-and-answer session both with
Meier in character as Perry and then as a scholar.
