NORTH BALTIMORE —North Baltimore Local Schools has many events planned for its year-long “Bringing Down
the House” celebration to help observe the transition of its students and community from the present
Second Street school to the new North Baltimore Middle School-High School Complex which will open in
August of 2012.
One of the events is the production of an alumni musical on June 8-10, 2012. Participation in this
production is open to all North Baltimore alumni, community members, and present students of the school
system.
In order to give people a chance to help pick the show to be presented, a survey is posted at the North
Baltimore Local School’s Administration Building, 201 S. Main St. The administrative assistant, Sandy
Stewart, will be able to assist voters. The shows under consideration are “Oklahoma!”, “Music Man” and
“State Fair.” Voting will be open until July 1.
There are many positions available for anyone who wants to be involved: actors, singers, dancers,
musicians, set builders, prop chairmen, light and sound technicians, make-up artists, hair stylists,
costumers, ushers, hosts and hostesses, concession workers, chairman of ticket sales, and individuals to
help with refreshments. There is also a need for people to help set up displays of pictures and programs
from previous productions for the nights of the performances.
The services of a photographer would also be very helpful.
Anyone interested in any of these areas should contact Voni Detamore at [email protected] or (419)
257-1451.
The committee has said the presentation of a final musical involving the many people who have performed
on the auditorium stage throughout the years is a fitting tribute to the many years of theatrical
performances at North Baltimore High School.
