PERRYSBURG – The Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra will present a free lecture-performance "Music
Inspired Food or Food Inspired Music – Which is it?" Friday at 7 p.m. at Owens Community College,
Center for the Fine and Performing Arts.
Conductor Barbara Specht will give the lecture illustrated by musical selections.
Ed Marks and Timo Lehtonen will play a clarinet/basset horn duet with the orchestra titled:
"Concertpiece No. 2 for Clarinet, Bassethorn and Orchestra" by Felix Mendelssohn.
The basset horn is rarely heard in today’s orchestras. Lehtonen has borrowed an instrument from a
previous teacher who plays in the Cleveland Orchestra.
Other pieces on the program are: "Overture to the Italien in Algiers" by Giacchino Rossini and
"March Past of the Kitchen Utensils" by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
