Marion H. Bockbrader, 87, of North Baltimore, died at 1:40 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2009, at the Briar
Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore.
He was born on September 13, 1922, in Moline, OH to the late Henry and Amelia (Miller) Bockbrader. He
married Ruth Hahn on February 16, 1946, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, James (Carol) Bockbrader of Columbus; a daughter, Bonnie Bockbrader of Oregon,
OH; grandchildren: Carrie Jo, Jason Ryan, Justin Robert and Caitlin Joy Bockbrader, all of Columbus; a
great-granddaughter, Ayla Jade Bockbrader.
Marion was a 1940 graduate of Lake High School. He served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corps, during
World War II.
Marion was a retired farmer and a member of the Farm Bureau. He helped organize the Golden-Seaway Farm
Council and the Milton-Liberty Neighbors Farm Council.
Marion also retired in 1983, from the Bowling Green City School system, where he was a bus driver and
school building maintenance man, and past-president of their O.A.P.S.E program.
He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, North Baltimore.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church,
North Baltimore, with Reverend Ralph Mineo officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park,
Perrysburg, where full military rites will be conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539
Memorial Squad.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North
Baltimore.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539 and/or Bridge Home
Health and Hospice and/or St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, North Baltimore, in his memory.
