BGSU volleyball wins; Van De Walle earns 500th victory

TOLEDO —Bowling Green, seeded 11th for the Mid-American Conference tournament, knocked off Toledo, 26-24,
25-22, 20-25, 16-25, 15-12, in the first round of the tournament Tuesday. It was the 500th victory for
Falcon head coach Denise Van De Walle, She is now 500-341 in 27 years at Bowling Green.
BG’s leaders were: Kaitlin Jackson, 11 kills, 17 digs; Emily Kauth, 11 kills, eight block assists; Corey
Domek, 20 kills; Allison Kearney, 46 assists, two aces, 17 digs; Shari Luther 11 kills; and Alex Zlabis,
31 digs.
Toledo was seeded No. 6.
The Falcons, now 13-19, face No. 3 seed Miami Friday at 1:30 in Toledo’s SeaGate Centre.
