Frank family to hold 75th reunion Sunday

The Frank family will be celebrating their 75th reunion this Sunday at the Odd Fellows Lodge on the Wood
County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green.
The first Frank reunion was held at the home of Homer and Elsie Frank in 1935. Since then, it is always
held the last Sunday of August.
There were 12 children in the family; Kenneth, 85, is the only surviving member. There are well over 200
living descendants.
The festivities planned to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the reunion include the family attending
the 6th annual Wood County Living History Day, held at the Oak Grove Cemetery next to the BGSU campus.

The county historical society sponsors this event to bring alive the memories of several residents of the
community now interred in one of the Wood County cemeteries.
Two of the Frank families’ own, Carroll Frank and Homer Frank will be among those presented this year.
Carroll Frank was a long time area farmer, 4H member and president of the Wood County Fair, as well as a
member of the Odd Fellows Lodge for over 50 years.
Homer Frank was also a member of the Odd Fellows for over 50 years, but was best known as a prominent
businessman in the community. He ran the Dixie Lunch on south U.S. 25, which later became a full-service
truck stop. Then in 1972, the business became known as Frank Sales and Service, selling televisions and
other major appliances. Homer retired in 1982, turning the business over to his son.
The Frank family plans to return to the county fairgrounds after the presentation at Oak Grove, for a
potluck supper and to have a family picture taken.
