Reimold earns AL rookie award
Nolan Reimold, from Bowling Green State University, is the American League’s rookie of the month for
June.
Reimold, Baltimore’s left fielder, batted .320 in 26 games during June and led all AL rookies with four
home runs. He also drove in nine runs and scored 13 during the month.
The 25-year-old had six multi-hit games during June, including three three-hit outings.
"That is a tremendous accomplishment. He sure has put together a nice first half of the season for a
guy didn’t make the club out of spring training," Baltimore manager Dave Trembley said about
Reimold. "He’s a very nice piece for the present and for the future. Along with (Adam) Jones and
(Nick) Markakis in the outfield, I can’t think of three more solid young up-and-coming guys."
On Wednesday, Reimold was hitless in four at-bats in a 5-3 win over Seattle He is hitting .264.
BG junior tennis camp set
The Bowling Green Community Tennis Association junior camp is July 13-17 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (a flexible
schedule) at Bowling Green’s Keefe Courts.
The cost is $125 which includes five hours of court instruction daily, T-shirt and Parent Day pizza and
pop.
The camp is open for beginners to tournament level players from 10-18 years old.
