To the Editor: GOBA director praises BG’s hospitality

The sights, sounds and hospitality of Bowling Green will linger long in the minds of 2,700 bicycle riders
who visited your town recently.
On June 23-24, the Wood County Fairgrounds played host to the 21st annual Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure.
And beyond this fine facility, many others played a role or enjoyed the company of our many
adventuresome cyclists as they explored the town or took advantage of the community’s services, lodging
and restaurants.
Some of the highlights were Snook’s Dream Cars Automobile Museum, Wood County Historical Society, the
"Tour de France" at the Cla-Zel theater, the Phranman Duo, the wind farm, the Dan and Don
Show, the many delicious eateries and the kind helpfulness of many local volunteers.
Among the many who were involved and who have our deepest gratitude are Town Coordinator Larry Sorrells,
GOBA Committee members Wendy Stram (Bowling Green Convention & Visitors Bureau), Beth Vollmar,
Michelle Grigore, Eric Larson, Tom Vanden Eynden, Earlene Kilpatrick, Tom Baer, Kelli Kling, Jason
Baxter, Bowling Green Police Department and Fire Department; Donald Bechstein, Joanne Spoerl, Rod Lucas,
Joe Stockwell and many others with the Wood County Agricultural Society; John Fawcett and City of
Bowling Green; Wood County Sheriff’s Office; Brad Gilbert, Wood County EMA; Ken Applehans; Bowling Green
High School; BG High School Volleyball; BG Parks & Recreation Department; First Presbyterian
Church; Friends of the Library; Boys Scouts; 4-H club; Wood County Amateur Radio Club; Middleton
Township EMS; several BG businesses; and many other hard-working volunteers.
