Four district library members hold fundraiser based on ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’

The Wood County District Public Library is holding a fundraiser based on the book "The Sisterhood of
the Traveling Pants" by Ann Brashares.
This is a story about four lifelong friends – in this case, played by library members Debra Manley, Anne
Palmer, Renee Noftz and Michelle Evans; pairs of well-worn pants sent from one friends to another; and a
plan the four friends have to help raise money for the library.
Here’s how it will work: The pairs of "traveling pants" being sent out by the four friends have
lots of pockets to be filled and the four members of the library "sisterhood" ask that each
"sister" who receives a pair of traveling pants fill one pocket with a donation and a note
containing a short story about her first or most memorable library experience. The pocket is sealed
(with a pin or button) and marked taken, and the pants are then passed on to another reliable friend.

Manley, Palmer, Noftz and Evans held a fundraiser kickoff on Wednesday. They want to keep the pants
traveling, and the story going. The friends suggest giving a tax deductible donation in the amount of
$100, although any amount is welcome. When all pockets have been filled, the pants and stories will be
displayed at the library.
