Classic cars returning to downtown

The 8th annual Classics on Main auto show will be Saturday afternoon in downtown Bowling Green.
The free show will feature 300 classic cars from noon to 4 p.m., rain or shine, along Main Street, from
Oak Street to Washington Street.
More than 50 trophies will be awarded, including 11 in the people’s choice category.
Judging will begin at 1 p.m., with the trophies to be presented at 3:30 p.m. Judges will be Jeff Snook,
Terry Stetler, Tom Striggow, Jim Roof and Dennis Chelminski.
Kids’ crafts and activities will be offered during the car show at the Wood County District Public
Library.
Nitro racing will be held in the parking lot beside the Flower Bakset.
Bowers Carriage Service will provide old-fashioned wagon rides from noon to 4 p.m.
A flea market will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Grounds for Thought.
Downtown merchants will also be providing special offers throughout the afternoon.
In conjunction with the show, the city has announced several street closings and parking restrictions in
the downtown area on Saturday.
Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between Clay and Pearl streets, beginning at 5 Saturday
morning. While Main Street is closed there will be no through traffic on Washington, Court, Clough and
Oak streets.
Wooster Street, however, will remain open for east and westbound traffic throughout the day.
During the closure, signs will direct traffic to detour routes.
All on-street parking will be prohibited in the closure area. Additionally, on-street parking will not be
allowed on Clay Street from Main to North Grove.
Access to all downtown city parking lots will remain open throughout the day.
