FOSTORIA – The funeral for Benjamin J. "Bud" Houtz will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at
Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Pastor Paul Rutledge will officiate. Burial will be in
Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.
Visitation is today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Houtz, 78, of Fostoria, died Sunday (June 28, 2009) at Good Shepherd Home, where he was a resident.

He worked in maintenance at Sun Grain Elevator in Risingsun.
In addition, he received his pilot license and had his own wrought iron business. He also served as a
member of the Risingsun Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Houtz attended First Church of God, Risingsun. He was a member of Fostoria Eagles and Moose Lodge as
well as Lake Plains Barbershoppers.
He was an avid hunter and farmer and enjoyed traveling and camping.
Born April 3, 1931 in Risingsun to Wilford and Tura Mae (Morrison) Houtz, he married Frankie Jane Fewless
on Feb. 19, 1950. She preceded him in death.
He also was preceded by a daughter, Sandra Houtz; three brothers, Wallace, Dale and Warren; and a
great-grandchild.
Surviving are a son, Ron, of McComb; a daughter, Linda Riley, Fostoria; a brother, Arvine, Hillsdale,
Mich.; three half brothers, John, Jack and Jerry Houtz, all of Wayne; two half sisters, Virginia and
Rosalie Roberts, both of Oklahoma; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
