MILLBURY – Altalee Mae (Bare) Lewis, 87, of Millbury, died Friday (June 26, 2009) in her home.
She was born in Buffalo Community of Ashe County, N.C., on Sept. 21, 1921, to Greene and Lucy Susan
(Treadway) Bare. She married Wiley Joseph Lewis in Buffalo Community on Dec. 24, 1936, and he died Oct.
5, 1988.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin; two brothers, Donald and Spencer Bare; five sisters,
Mary Husky, Lena Hodgson, Collean Furches, Jean Harrison and Brucie Faye Bare; a half brother, Arthur;
and a grandson.
Surviving are three daughters, Lois Baum, Lyda "Pinkie" Lewis, and Naomi Al-Haroun; a son,
Michael; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral for will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory,
Genoa. Burial will be at a later date at Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury.
Visitation is today from 2 to 9 p.m.
