Bob and Ruth Byler of South Venice, Fla., formerly of Haskins, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary
June 28.
Theys were married in 1959 at Barry, Ill.
The Bylers have three children, Rena Breeding of Elizabeth, Colo.; Greg Byler of South Venice; and Diane
Pasley of Madison, Wis.
They have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Bylers were married in Peoria, Ill.
He
edited publications for corporations and trade associations, was a radio and TV newsman and a journalism
professor for 22 years until retiring in 1990 from Bowling Green State University.
She was a lab technician for Cooper Tire in Bowling Green, a real estate agent and worked in nursing
homes.
Their anniversary was celebrated with friends at their home.
A trip to Branson, Mo., was canceled because of his open-heart surgery June 9.
He had a triple bypass and is recovering well.
He was co-founder in 1983 of Northwest Ohio Writers Forum.
He also was a former president of Haskins Lions Club.
