NORTH BALTIMORE – Esther D. (Ackerman) Tietje, 69, of North Baltimore, died Sunday (June 14, 2009.)
She was born Nov. 13, 1939, in North Baltimore to Evert and Sophie (Koehnke) Ackerman. She married Marvin
Tietje on April 25, 1959. He died Jan. 31, 1995.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Evert Ackerman.
Surviving are a son, Jeff, of North Baltimore; a daughter, Julie Kretz, Rio Rancho, N.M.; a brother,
Harold Ackerman, Corona, Calif.; two sisters, Alice Sammet and Ruth Tietje, both of North Baltimore;
five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Findlay. Rev. Bob Cochran
will officiate. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Crates Funeral Home, North Baltimore.
