PEMBERVILLE – The unit met June 3 with 11 members present and President Denise Conrad in charge.
The joint meeting was held June 2 with review of GOBA items. A full 88 dozen eggs were boiled, peeled and
bagged.
June 5 was decoration night for the Summer First District conference. Joanne Busdeker and Marilyn Starkey
are in charge in the kitchen. Meal cost will be $6, for chicken salad and ham salad croissants and salad
bar. Department President Cindy Underwood was a guest speaker.
New officers were installed by June Baker. They are: President, Denise Conrad; first vice president,
Carolyn Borcherding; second vice president, Starkey; secretary, Mary Busdeker; treasurer, Sandy Miesmer;
chaplain, Anne Michel; and sergeant-at-arms, Ruth Haas.
A historian is needed for the unit. If interested, call Conrad.
Gwen Schroeder Zulch asked for a donation towards the glass case that holds the dress Edith Hobart wore.
Each unit is asked to give $25, to be given to the national president during the "Parade of
Checks" at the state convention, June 25-28 in Dayton. The unit agreed.
High school boys are needed to work at the fair. The Eastwood High band will fry burgers in the steak
house for the fair. $75 was given to Schroeder-Zuch for the Buckeye Girls Staters.
