On Wednesday, Bowling Green police were dispatched to the Wood County Hospital regarding a juvenile who allegedly had been stabbed in a fight.
According to the Bowling Green Police Division report, the victim, a 16-year old female, had minor facial injuries as well as a bandage on their right arm.
The victim told police the alleged assailant, a 15-year old male, returned to school that day after a long suspension.
After school, the female was walking with a friend in the 1000 block of Fairview Avenue when a group of five juveniles approached, punching her head and stabbing her right forearm. The group accused the victim of name calling, according to the report.
A female in the neighboring apartment complex transported the 16-year-old to the hospital.
Police then interviewed the male and he told officers that he used the knife out of self-defense, according to the report.
The male was arrested for felonious assault and was taken to juvenile detention center.
