Career Day at Kenwood

Career Day returned to Kenwood Elementary May 10 with 10 professioners talking to students about what they do for a living. Kenwood used to hold the event annually but it was dropped over the years. It returned last year and was a big hit with students, staff, and the community members who participated.

This year, Dawn Shultz, a baker at Walmart, had first graders Savanna Busler (from left), Adalinee Garner and Christian Hernandez decorating cupcakes.

Robin Short, Bowling Green’s school resource officer, asked students what to do in the event of an emergency and explained the equipment she carries. Also visiting the school were a detective, a business owner, an engineer, morning DJ, hair stylist, photographer, interior designer and public health official.
