Nancy L. McDonald, age 81, of Bowling Green, Ohio, formerly of Wayne, Ohio passed away on Monday (May 13, 2024) at her home.
She was born on February 22, 1943 in Wood County, Ohio to the late Guy E. & Florence K. (Jacobs) Hummel. She married Melvin R. McDonald on February 15, 1964 in Wayne, Ohio.
Surviving Nancy is her loving husband of 60 years, Mel; daughter, Terri (Tom) Schaller of Perrysburg, Ohio; sons, Daniel (Jennifer) McDonald of Denver, Colorado, Steven (Jennifer) McDonald of Kent, Ohio; brother, James (Janet) Hummel of Perrysburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Bryan (Elizabeth) Schaller, Heather Schaller, Jordan McDonald, Kaylee McDonald, Jacob McDonald, Sean McDonald, Zachary McDonald, Nick (Julita) Ellis, Samantha Ellis; great-grandson, Case Schaller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy & Florence.
Nancy was a 1961 Elmwood High School graduate. She worked for 27 years at B.G.S.U. in the Academic Enhancement Department. She was a member of the Wayne United Methodist Church.
She loved playing bingo every Tuesday and enjoyed sports and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeye’s fan. Nancy really enjoyed her time with friends and family whether it be the neighborhood poker night or at family gathering’s with her children and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 12-2 p.m. Saturday (May 18, 2024) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tamara Bennett officiating.
Burial will be in Graham Cemetery near Wayne, Ohio followed by a bereavement luncheon back at the Wayne United Methodist Church.
