The Bowling Green State University mens basketball program and coach Todd Simon announced the signing of Wilguens Jr. Exacte on Thursday.

Exacte, a 6-foot-6 guard, will join the Falcons after spending the last two seasons at Utah. A native of Montreal, Canada, Exacte played in all 32 of Utah’s games during his freshman season before missing the 2023-24 campaign.

“Wilguens is a special talent with size, athleticism and skill on the perimeter,” said Simon. “He competes and can guard every position.

“Offensively, he is a mismatch with his strength against smaller defenders and his perimeter skill will be a problem for larger defenders. He is a high character young man that will represent Bowling Green well.”

During his freshman season in 2022-23, Exacte played in all 32 of Utah’s games, including making a pair of starts. He averaged just under 12 minutes per game to go along with 3.6 points and 1.3 rebounds.

Exacte shot 94.7-percent at the free throw line (18-of-19) and recorded double-digit points three times for Utah. He added career-highs for a single game with six rebounds and three assists.

Before playing for Utah, Exacte was a member of the NBA Academy Latin America, an elite basketball training center in Mexico for the top athletes throughout Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, South America and Canada to train.

Exacte is the fourth Canadian to attend NBA Academy Latin America and go on to attend an NCAA Division I school, joining Olivier Maxence Prosper (Marquette), Benedict Mathurin (Arizona) and Tre-Vaughn Minott (South Carolina). Exacte also played as part of the Under Armour Canada Elite team.

Exacte is the fifth player to sign with the Falcons this offseason, joining four transfers; Michigan forward Youssef Khayat, Arizona State guard Braelon Green, Northern Oklahoma guard Javontae Campbell and Wheeling forward Marcus Johnson; and two incoming signees from the fall; guard Jaxon Pardon and forward Preston Squire.
