Dorothy Lou Henry, age 87, of Wayne, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 19, 1936, in West Millgrove, to the late Cecil Herbert & Alida Mable (Priest) Sawyer. Dorothy married Robert Lee Henry on September 4, 1971, in Wayne, Ohio, and he preceded her in passing on March 4, 2002.
Surviving Dorothy are her children, Timothy (Brenda) Merritt of Findlay, Beverly (Harley) Lee of Bloomdale, Terry Merritt of Wayne, Brenda (Robert) Hammer of Wayne; stepchildren, Michelle Dixon of Findlay, Teresa Boyce of Cygnet, Tracy (Teresa) Henry of Tennessee; sister, Ruth (Gary) Wise of Wayne; 6 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil & Alida; sister, Janet Bolen; grandchildren, Jeannie Merritt, Nathan Lee, and Christopher Duncan.
Dorothy worked at Alto U.S. Inc in Bowling Green for 20 years. She was a member of Bridge Fellowship Church in North Baltimore, Ohio. Among many hobbies over the years, she enjoyed bowling and her greatest love in life was spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday (May 10, 2024) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio. Additional visitation will be held at Bridge Fellowship Church, 117 N. Tarr St., North Baltimore, Ohio from 12-1 p.m. Saturday (May 11, 2024) where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at p.m. Saturday with Pastor Mike Soltis officiating.
Burial will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Wayne, Ohio.
