BG woman arrested for sitting in police cruiser

On Saturday around 7:14 p.m., Bowling Green police were conducting a traffic stop in City Lot 2 when an individual entered the patrol vehicle without permission.

Isabel Awad, 22, Bowling Green, was arrested for criminal mischief and was taken to jail.

According to the Bowling Green Police Division report, Awad entered the cruiser without permission and asked the officer if they could provide a ride to the bar. When the officer asked Awad why she entered the vehicle without permission, she stated that she thought that the police department “provided rides.”

Police exited the vehicle to remove Awad from the back seat but a friend of Awad’s opened the passenger rear side door, and both attempted to leave the scene, according to the report.
