Vehicle parked downtown damaged by thrown bar stool

On Saturday around 2:38 a.m., Bowling Green police were dispatched to the 100 block of North Main Street for a criminal damaging complaint.

When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke to the caller who showed them their vehicle. The vehicle was legally parked on North Main Street and had a black mark or scratch with a dent in the middle of the passenger rear side door.

The caller stated that a man threw a bar stool off the balcony of the bar, causing damage to the vehicle. The caller stated that they would like charges, if possible.

Police tried to locate the man at his most recent address but were told he no longer lived there.

The man contacted the police department on Sunday and apologized.

No charges were filed.
