Kathryn J. Woodward, age 76, went home to be with Jesus February 27, 2024.

Kathy’s faith was the bedrock of her life. Her bright mind and love of reading and people fostered academic and professional success. Kathy was a 1965 graduate of Rossford H.S. and held degrees and diploma from Otterbein College, University of Strasburg, France, B.G.S.U., and the University of Toledo College of Law.

Her teaching career began at William Henry Harrison High School followed by teaching French and English in Rossford, Ohio. She transitioned to paralegal work, then attorney and partner in the Estates and Trust Department at Shumaker, Loop, and Kendrick, Toledo, Ohio.

Kathy’s love for people and youth were evidenced by her involvement at Toledo Christian School as board chairman, statistician for boys varsity and J.V. basketball, and member of the Toledo Christian Foundation Board. A passion and love of storytelling enabled her to captivate both young and old with stories that stretched their imaginations and encouraged a deeper faith walk.

Kathy and her husband Marc enjoyed nearly 55 years together and found pleasure in the great outdoors, especially in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and Ireland where she connected with her Irish roots.

Perhaps her greatest joy was being mother to our son Ian, wife Bethany, and grandmother to 5 1⁄2 month old grandchild Kimber Rose. Brothers Spencer Cunningham and wife Dru, Rob Cunningham and wife Barb are remembered for their constant loving support. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Eugene H. and Alice V. Cunningham.

Christian education and support for life issues were fundamental concerns motivating Kathy’s life.

Those wishing to honor her life and memory are welcome to consider gifts to the Toledo Christian Schools Foundation-Woodward Family Scholarship Fund, and the Foundation for Life.

We praise the Lord for Kathy’s life and witness. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday the 27th of April at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Assembly of God Church, 665 W. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg, Ohio.

Condolences may be made to the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
