A Detroit man has been indicted for allegedly using false identification to purchase a motorcycle.

A Wood County grand jury on March 20 indicted Aaron Higginbotham, 32, twice.

The first indictment was for attempted grand theft, a fifth-degree felony, falsification in a theft offense, a fourth-degree felony; and identity fraud, a third-degree felony.

On Feb. 21, he allegedly used a false identity to obtain a loan and purchase a 2023 Harley-Davidson for $31,849.

Higginbotham admitted to doing the same thing at another dealership in Napoleon and leaving with two motorcycles. He told the officers that the motorcycles “were long gone,” according to court documents.

He had in his possession a fake Georgia driver’s license with his image stating he was Ian Carson.

The second indictment was for tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; and for two counts of identity fraud, both fifth-degree felonies.

On Feb. 29, Perrysburg police received a call regarding driver’s licenses found in the bushes on East South Boundary. There were six different driver’s licenses all containing different names, addresses, and dates of birth but with a picture of Higginbotham, who had previously been arrested.
