CLEVELAND – On Monday morning, Bowling Green State University senior outfielder Jack Krause was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the first such honor of his career.

This is the second consecutive week BGSU has received the award with Tyler Ross being named last week. The Falcons have now had four different players earn awards this season with D.J. Newman and Nic Good previously earning the MAC Pitcher of the Week award.

Krause was the catalyst for the Falcons during a week where BGSU scored 58 runs, including a program record in a MAC game with 34 on Saturday against Ball State.

Krause’s best game of the weekend was in the Saturday win, going 5-for-7 with five runs scored and four RBI with a double. He followed it up with a 3-for-5 day on Sunday with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored.

Over the course of the four games, Krause reached base 13 times and scored nine times. He finished the week with a slash line of .558/.650/1.059, logging 10 hits with two doubles, two home runs and nine RBI while stealing two bases for the Falcons.

The Falcons will take on Youngstown State on Tuesday for the team’s final road game before opening up the home portion of the schedule on Friday with a three-game weekend series against Akron at Steller Field.
