PERRYSBURG — The City of Perrysburg has been preparing for the total solar eclipse happening April 8. The city will be within the band of totality and is expected to experience around three minutes of darkness, making it a great location to witness this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Statewide predictions indicate that there could be an influx of travelers in and around Perrysburg. Because of this, city officials have been making plans to accommodate while keeping residents and citizens safe. The following measures are being put into place:

The roads highlighted in red on the map have been designated as Emergency Response Corridors from April 6-9. This means that vehicles that are illegally parked on these roads will be ticketed and immediately towed. Parking will only be allowed in designated spots.

Public Wi-Fi at Rotary, Municipal, Woodlands, and Rivercrest Parks will be restricted beginning the evening of April 7 through the morning of April 9. This is to ensure that Perrysburg emergency responders have a designated place to communicate with each other should communications such as cellular service be disrupted.

There will be a one-day delay in garbage, recycling and yard waste pick-up the week of April 8.

All city offices, including Perrysburg Municipal Court, will be closed on April 8.
