Penta board welcomes 3 new members

PERRYSBURG — The Penta Career Center Board of Education, during its Jan. 10 organizational meeting, has re-elected Judith Sander (of Genoa), who represents the North Point Educational Service Center, as president of the board. In addition, Judith Paredes (of Walbridge), who represents the Wood County Educational Service Center, was elected vice president of the Penta Board.

Three new members will begin serving on the Penta Board of Education. They include Ross Stambaugh, Peggy Thompson and Kris Campbell.

Stambaugh, who represents the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center, will serve a three-year term through Dec. 31, 2026. He replaces William Green, from the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center, who served on the Penta board from 2008 through December 2023.

Thompson, who represents the Bowling Green City School District, will serve a three-year term through Dec. 31, 2026. She replaces Paul Walker, from the Bowling Green City School District, who served on the Penta board from 2013 through December 2023.

Campbell, who represents the Perrysburg Exempted Village School District, will begin serving on the Penta board through Dec. 31, 2026. He replaces Eric Benington, from the Perrysburg Exempted Village School District, who served on the Penta board from 2018 through December 2023.

Current board of Education members: Diane Balcerzak (Maumee City School District); Kenneth Sutter (Rossford School District); Joan Kuchcinski (Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West); Judith Sander (North Point Educational Service Center); and Judith Paredes (Wood County Educational Service Center), will continue to serve unexpired terms through Dec. 31, 2025.

Kathy Limes, who represents the Wood County Educational Service Center, will begin serving a new three-year term through Dec. 31, 2026.

The Penta Board of Education is comprised of nine members who are chosen to serve through appointment by their respective boards of education.

Also, during the organizational meeting, members voted to keep the 5:15 p.m. meeting time on the second Wednesday of each month. The board may adjust dates and times of meetings if deemed necessary. The meetings are held in the board of education meeting room on the Penta campus.
