Candidates and isues on March ballot

Voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballot in a variety of races and issues in the March 19 primary election.

Listed below are local issues as well as contested races for local offices that will appear on the primary ballot.

Municipal Issues

• City of Perrysburg: 1.9-mill replacement levy for Way Library current expenses. Four years, commencing in 2024, first due calendar year 2025.

Township Issues

• Lake Township: Proposed rezoning from R-2 (residential) and B-2 (general business) of the area commonly referred to as 0 Bailey Road, Northwood, by referendum petition.

School Districts

• Anthony Wayne Local School District: 2.42-mill additional for current expenses. Five years, commencing in 2024, first due in 2025.

• Otsego Local School District: 0.50% income tax for current expenses. For five years beginning Jan. 1, 2025.

• Perrysburg Exempted Village School District: 2.65-mill bond issue for 36 years with an additional 0.85 mills for a continuing period of time for construction of school facilities, commencing in 2024.

Other Issues

• Precinct 432: Local liquor option for Sunday sales for the Walbridge Nite Club, 105 S. Main St., Walbridge

• Precinct 070: Local liquor option for Sunday sales for Coras Wine and Beverage, 110 Napoleon Road, Bowling Green

• Precinct 743: Local liquor option for Sunday sales for Sidelines Perrysburg Eatery, 136 W. South Boundary St., Perrysburg

State Representative, 75th District, one to be elected

• Democrat: Jan Materni, Perrysburg

• Republican: Sally Culling, Perrysburg

• Republican: Haraz Ghanbari, Perrysburg

Wood County Commissioner, one to be elected (term commencing Jan. 3, 2025)

• Democrat: Philip Chrysler, Bowling Green

• Republican: Ted Bowlus, Pemberville

• Republican: Cory Kuhlman, Perrysburg

Wood County Recorder, one to be elected

• Democrat: Jeremy Schroeder, Weston

• Republican: James Matuszak, Perrysburg

• Republican: Connor Rose, Bowing Green

Wood County Treasurer, one to be elected

• Democrat: Sanjay Gupta, Perrysburg

• Republican: Jane Spoerl

Second District State Central Committeeman, one to be elected

• Republican: Timothy Brentlinger, Sylvania

• Republican: Joshua Culling, Perrysburg

Second District State Central Committeewoman, one to be elected

• Republican: Lisa Crescimano, Sandusky

• Republican: Beth Deck, Vermillion

State and federal candidateswill be added as received from the Ohio Secretary of State.

Candidates who filed for reelection and are uncontested include Molly Mack, Wood County Common Pleas Court judge; Craig LaHote, Wood County commissioner; Douglas Cubberly, clerk of court; Douglas Hess, coroner; John Musteric, county engineer; Paul Dobson, county prosecuting attorney; Mark Wasylyshyn, sheriff; and Theresa Gavarone, state senator.
