BG man pleads guilty to intimidation

A Bowling Green man has pleaded guilty to intimidation.

Andrew Robins, 50, was transported from the jail Tuesday to the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Matt Reger.

Robins had been indicted in August for two counts of intimidation, both third-degree felonies.

The second charge will be dismissed at sentencing.

On Aug. 2, he sent a threatening email to a Wood County judge, demanding the return of a car and stating, “you will be lucky to live another few months,” according to Wood County Assistant Prosecutor Brian Boos.

In September, it was determined he was not competent to stand trial but there was a substantial probability that he would become competent if he was provided with a course of treatment. He was sent to Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital.

A competency restoration report was filed earlier this month.

Reger said he could impose a prison sentence of up to 36 months, but that is not mandatory.

Sentencing was set for Feb. 6.
