St. Louis School hosts spaghetti supper

CUSTAR — St. Louis School will be having an all you can eat homemade spaghetti supper today from 4:30-6:30. The dinner includes a salad, bread, ice cream sundae bar, and beverage for a free will donation. Carryout will be available as well as dine in. All proceeds go towards school operating expenses.

St. Louis School is located on Ohio 281 in Custar.

Halloween karaoke with the VFW

Bowling Green VFW Post 1148 will hold Halloween Karaoke by Chuck Pultz tonight from 8-midnight. It is open to the public and food will be available.

The post is located at 719 S. Main St.

Risingsun church holds community dinner

RISINGSUN — St. Paul United Methodist Church will host a community dinner on Tuesday. Serving will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Meatloat, parsley potatoes, green beans, salad, desserts and drinks are on the menu. The public is invited to attend. A suggested donation of $5 will help with Missions and Christmas gifts for school children.

The church is located at 126 Union St. and is handicapped accessible.

Planning Commission meeting canceled

The Bowling Green Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled.

Tree Commission to host Tree Health Seminar

The Bowling Green Tree Commission has announced the return of its free bi-annual seminars with “What’s Eating Our Trees – From Inside to Out: Tree Diseases and Pests” presented by Jim Chatfield, recently retired Extension Specialist at Ohio State University. This event will be held on Nov. 9 from 78:30 p.m. in the Veteran’s Building meeting room.

This program is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Residents are encouraged to attend and learn about what might be ailing their tree and what pests to look out for in the future.

BG electric division earns commendation

The Bowling Green Electric Division was commended for its participation in AMP’s Mutual Aid Program in recognition of mutual aid assistance the city provided to the AMP member communities of the Village of Bloomdale, City of Coldwater and City of Wapakoneta as well as the public power community of the City of Springfield, Illinois. Mutual aid is one of the most important aspects of AMP membership, as it ensures that assistance is available when it is needed most.

In addition, Brian O’Connell, director of public infrastructure and director of utilities for Bowling Green, was elected vice chair of the AMP Board of Trustees. O’Connell has represented Bowling Green on the AMP Board of Trustees since June 2011.
