Pursuit ends when motorcyclist crashes on I-475

On Friday, the Bowling Green Post was contacted by the Bowling Green Police Division that they terminated a pursuit of a motorcycle that was traveling northbound on Ohio 25.

Troopers from the Bowling Green post responded to Route 25 and located the motorcycle near state Ohio 582 at approximately 1:15 a.m. The motorcycle fled from troopers and crashed after striking a curb near the Interstate 475 overpass.

The rider was thrown from of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist, identified as Evan J. Aiken, 20, Toledo, was running toward the motorcycle as the trooper pulled up to the scene. The trooper positioned his patrol car in the path of the motorcyclist.

Aiken was taken into custody and stated he had injuries. He was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

No charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation at this time.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Perrysburg Division of Police, Perrysburg Fire Division and Bubba’s Heavy Towing.
