Tobias throws for 309 yards, but Flyers nipped, 21-19

MILLBURY — In Lake coach Lane Bishop’s debut, the Flyers fell to Leipsic, 25-19, Friday in both teams’ season opener at Lake Community Stadium Friday. The difference in the game was missed point after touchdown opportunities.

For the Flyers, quarterback Caleb Tobias completed 21-of-38 passes for 309 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.

Brandon Darr caught two passes for 106 yards and one TD, Gavin Kohlhofer caught four passes for 86 yards and one TD and Jay Blazevich had three catches for 53 yards.

David Parsons caught seven passes for 43 yards, Joah Herman had four catches for 16 yards and one TD, and Felipe Garcia had one catch for five yards.

Herman also ran for 42 yards on 12 carries, Izyck Whalen ran for 31 yards on seven carries, Tobias ran for 22 yards on 14 carries, and Parsons ran for eight yards on two carries.
