GRAND RAPIDS — EZ Pickenz will present the next program of the Rhythm on the River Arts Series in Grand Rapids on Sunday at 4 p.m. The programs are held in the Wright Pavilion located on the towpath between the canal and the Maumee River at the end of Lincoln Street and are sponsored by the Historical Society of Grand Rapids.

The original duo EZ Pickenz consisting of Mark Elder and Matt Meeker has been performing together for almost seven years around the greater western Lake Erie area. They have recently been joined by Lyle Diefenthaler, percussionist and vocalist.

Meeker is a Toledo native who sings and plays guitar and has performed around Toledo his entire life. Elder sings, plays guitar and bass, and is also a songwriter and the audio engineer. Difenthaler, also from Toledo, adds flare with his percussion skills and adds a third voice to the group’s precise new three-part harmony.

The group covers songs from the late ’60s through the early ’80s from bands like the Eagles, Grateful Dead, the Moody Blues, Van Morrison, Garth Brooks and Jimmy Buffet.

The concert is free, so bring lawn chairs or blankets and join in this beautiful setting alongside the Maumee River. In case of inclement weather, the program will be moved farther west on Front Street to the old fire station.
