Perrysburg woman arrested for allegedly stabbing man in BG

A Perrysburg woman has been arrested for assault after she allegedly stabbed a man in Bowling Green.

On Friday at 4:42 a.m., Bowling Green police were dispatched to the 2000 block of East Napoleon Road for a reported of a woman slashing a tire and attempting to stab a male.

Officers were advised the two got into a black Dodge Charger heading eastbound toward South Dunbridge Road.

The car stopped at the stop sign and a man dressed in a tan military uniform quickly exited the front passenger side of the vehicle and ran southbound, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

One officer stayed with the car while another attempted to stop the man, who turned and ran west toward the apartment complex.

A woman, identified as Monique Perkins, 20, started to exit the vehicle. She was placed in handcuffs and taken into custody.

Perkins denied having a knife.

A steak knife was observed on the front passenger floor of the Charger and blood was observed on the driver’s side door. A blanket with blood was found in the roadway.

As police searched for the man, the original complainant called and said she could see him stumbling back toward the apartment.

Due to safety concerns, the man’s cell phone was pinged in an attempt to locate him and get him medical attention. The pings came back to an area along Interstate 75 and East Gypsy Lane Road. Units searched the area but was unable to locate the man.

The officers were later told that the man was at Wood County Hospital.

Police found Darnell Johnson, 21, Canal Winchester, in the waiting room at the hospital. He stood and walked into a bathroom upon seeing the officer.

He was taken back to the ER where his left thumb was stitched.

Perkins was arrested for felonious assault and Johnson was arrested for obstructing official business.

Both were taken to jail.

Perkins remained in jail Monday with a $50,000 bond.

Johnson was in municipal court Friday and was released on an own recognizance bond.
