BG teen to sing National Anthem at Cleveland Guardians game

Evvie Van Vorhis, a 14-year-old from Bowling Green, will be singing the National Anthem on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. at the Cleveland Guardians vs. Minnesota Twins MLB game.

Van Vorhis had the opportunity to sing for the Cleveland Browns in December. Her video from that game has over 115,000 views.

She is in the eighth grade at Bowling Green Middle School. Her beautiful soprano voice is a product of passion, hard work and years of voice lessons.

Van Vorhis was the youngest soloist to perform with the Toledo Symphony, and she currently is a vocal intern for Masterworks Chorale of Toledo. She has performed the National Anthem at games for Ohio State, Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.

Van Vorhis has also sung in numerous musicals, including “Shrek the Musical,” “Lion King Jr.,” “Annie” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”
