Bowling Green City Schools is participating in Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, along with schools from across the country.

High school, middle school, Conneaut, Crim, and Kenwood elementary school students, family members and staff are invited to participate.

The event is a reminder of the importance of safe routes to schools for all forms of active transportation. The event welcomes and encourages people of all abilities, fostering physical and mental well-being, strengthening connections with the environment, and building a sense of community and school spirit. Active trips enable students to incorporate the regular physical activity they need each day while also forming healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends that children and adolescents get one hour or more of physical activity each day. Research suggests that physically active kids are more likely to become healthy, physically active adults, underscoring the importance of developing the habit of regular physical activity early.
