PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg pitcher Maddie Von Sacken struck out seven, walked none, and held Maumee to five hits and no runs in tossing a complete game 12-0 victory over the Panthers.
Von Sacken threw 72 pitches, including 49 strikes, in facing 20 batters as the Yellow Jackets’ offense scored three runs in each inning in a game that ended after 4½ innings because of the mercy rule.
At the plate, Ella Leonard homered, Jess Miller was 3-for-3 with two triples, a double and four RBIs, Hayley Griggs was 3-for-4 with a double, and Morgan Hoverman was 2-for-4 with a stolen base.
Alyssa Bradford tripled, Cassie Plummer doubled, and Yesenia You had a base hit for the Yellow Jackets.
For the Panthers, Lilly Duling and Autumn Gugger had two base hits apiece and Danielle Schriner had a base hit. Duling and Gugger had one stolen base apiece. Hannah Ruiz and Hailey Yarberry pitched for Maumee.
