A Bowling Green State University student was arrested Sunday for assaulting a woman.

At 1 a.m., a Bowling Green police officer observed a physical altercation in City Lot 1, located in the 100 block of East Court Street.

As the officer approached, he observed the defendant, identified as Kayla Annabel White, strike the other woman in the head multiple times.

While he separated the two women, another officer was able to get a video from a witness, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

The video showed White striking the victim, a 19-year-old Perrysburg woman, repeatedly and attempting to take her to the ground.

White told police the altercation started inside a bar and said they were escorted out of the bar and the fight continued in the parking lot, according to the report.

White, 20, of Willowick and identified by police as a BGSU student, was arrested for assault and was taken to jail. She also was cited for display of fictitious ID.

She was released Monday on an own recognizance bond.
